Exposition: Les expressions du corps humain et animalier

Cette exposition est le résultat d’une sélection minutieuse d’une quarantaine de sculptures en bronze, céramique, marbre et pierre des plus grands artistes des XIXe et XXe siècles, réalisées de leur vivant.

Citons La petite panthère de Rembrandt Bugatti (1884-1916), réalisée à seulement 10 exemplaires par le célèbre fondeur Adrien-Aurélien Hébrard. Cette pièce est rarissime. Tout comme le fabuleux groupe du Guerrier Tartare arrêtant son cheval d’Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875) dont il existe un modèle comparable au musée d’Orsay. Libero Andreotti (1878-1933) quant à lui était sculpteur, illustrateur et céramiste. Sa Femme au paon oscille entre archaïsme (pour le visage) et maniérisme (pour le corps en marche, le paon au plumage immense). Ces trois sculptures comptent parmi les pièces phares de l’exposition qui présente un ensemble d’ artistes animaliers et figuratifs dont la qualité se veut irréprochable et l’authenticité incontestable.
