Cette fonte en bronze, probablement d’un portrait de fantaisie, séduit tout particulièrement par la précision remarquable de son exécution, la richesse de sa patine et la subtilité de sa ciselure. Un buste du même modèle en fonte de fer par Jules Graux, décrit comme le Portrait de Madame de Cassagne, se trouve à l’Hôtel de Lunas, Montpellier (notice en ligne sur la base Palissy). La composition générale de ce portait est comparable à un autre buste en fonte de fer conservé à Amiens, au musée de Picardie (H. 58 cm ; inv. 981.10).
