Calot et turban en drap bleu foncé, bandeau en drap noir, passepoils rouge écarlate.

Sur les côtés ventouses d’aération en cuivre tombac peintes en bleu foncé. Coiffure rigidifiée au niveau du bandeau par un carton.

Jugulaire à double coulisse en cuir noirci verni, maintenue par deux boutons de petits modules en métal timbrés de l’inscription « DOUANES » ceint de deux rameaux de feuilles de lauriers.

Visière en cuir épais noirci et verni sur sa face externe et interne.

Sur le devant de coiffe en métal blanc estampé et découpé, emblème des douanes, bombe enflammée brochant sur un cor de chasse, surmonté d’une cocarde en soie et cannetille aux couleurs tricolores, pompon sphérique de 35mm de diamètre rouge écarlate.

Cet usage, fréquent lors du port de la grande tenue, fut modifié en novembre 1910 avec la suppression du pompon héritier du shako et alors remplacé par un plumet.

Fond du calot rigidifié par un carton et habillé d’un tissu de toile enduite noire. Absence du bandeau de sudation.
