KÉPI DE SOUS-OFFICIER DU 80ème RÉGIMENT D’INFANTERIE DE LIGNE, modèle 1867, Second Empire

Calot et turban en drap fin garance, de forme pentue, bandeau en drap bleu foncé, chiffre « 80 » en drap garance découpé et rapporté directement sur le bandeau. Cordonnet en drap bleu foncé.

Fausse jugulaire en galon de métal or dit « en traits côtelés » maintenue par deux boutons fantaisie demi-sphériques en laiton doré sans empreinte. Visière de forme carrée en cuir verni noir et ciré vert à l’intérieur avec jonc en veau laqué noirci plié à cheval sur le bord extérieur. Coiffe intérieure composée d’un bandeau de sudation en basane noircie et surmontée d’une coiffe en toile noire.

HISTORIQUE :

Le 80ème Régiment d’Infanterie de Ligne est créé en 1855. Il participe aux campagnes du Second Empire : Armée d’Italie (1859-1860), bataille de Mantana (1867), puis en 1870 il fait partie de l’Armée du Rhin, il prend part aux célèbres batailles de : Borny, Rezonville, St Privat, Servigny et au siège de Verdun. De 1871 à 1875, il est affecté en Algérie puis en Tunisie (1881 à1883) et à Madagascar en 1895-1896.
