Sur cette peinture on note clairement une influence occidentale quant au traitement de l’architecture. Ces vues sont fortement inspirées des gravures européennes, et plus particulièrement des vues d’optique aux perspectives prononcées, en circulation et en vogue en Inde à cette période.
La plupart des peintures de ce groupe semblent avoir été exécutées à Jaipur à la fin du XVIIIe siècle, et malgré leur apparence d’architecture occidentale elles mettent en scène souvent des lieux indiens représentés de manière européanisée.
